Why league context changes a global ranking

A global ranking answers for a reference league. Your scoring, roster slots, waiver pool, and build can change the order — sometimes materially.

The flaw in global ECR

Every expert consensus ranking uses a reference format. Your league may differ. Roster slots, scoring weights, waiver pool, and build can shift player value; the size and direction depend on the inputs.

What league-native ECR does

An illustrative league-context workflow can re-weight a source ranking by:

  1. Your category list — a points-league ignores assists/turnovers; a 12-cat weights defensive stats double.
  2. Your roster slots — a league with 3 UTIL slots inflates positionless volume scorers; a league with strict center slots inflates centers.
  3. Your scoring formula — +1.5 for a made three vs +1.0 changes every shooter's rank.

The method is source-dependent: source rank or projection → supported league scoring → roster/positional scarcity → contextual rank. Pick Pilot's beta currently uses rolling form rather than a licensed ECR or preseason projection feed.

What can change

A punt, category weight, or unusual slot can move a player up or down. Do not reuse a fixed rank shift across leagues: calculate it from the named source, date, player pool, and rules, then show those inputs beside the result.

Closing

Your rank sheet should look like your league. Not someone else's.
