Playoff prep: the four-week runway that wins championships
Schedule mining, streamer banking, and the sneaky waiver claims to make in Week 18 that pay off in Week 23.
Start in Week 18
Open the playoff schedule view (we surface this 4 weeks ahead). Identify three things:
- Players whose teams have the most playoff-week games.
- Players whose teams have the fewest back-to-backs in your playoff window.
- Players currently rostered by teams out of contention in your league (likely future drops).
Streamer banking
Drop your weakest bench piece in Week 19. Add a Week 22 schedule monster — even if they don't help you this week. The waiver wire empties out by playoffs; bank scarcity now.
The Week 21 churn
Late-season waiver pools change as standings and participation change. Preserve FAAB or priority when the expected playoff value exceeds today's opportunity cost; do not assume another manager will disengage or drop a specific player.
Closing
Playoffs aren't won in the playoffs. They're won in Week 18.
